SINGER, SONGWRITER, SESSION VOCALS & COACHING

Slideshow

Hello, and a very warm welcome!

I am a 30-year-old British professional singer, session vocalist, songwriter and vocal coach, born just outside Wellington, New Zealand, and brought up in West Oxfordshire. After 6 years in Liverpool, I now live in a village near Scunthorpe, in rural North Lincolnshire.

I graduated from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) in 2003 with a BA (Hons, 2:1) in Performing Arts/Music. Since then, I have been busy touring with The Australian Pink Floyd Show until recently, and now I'm  currently working with
BritFloyd as a backing vocalist. I also sing lead vocals for new function band 'Re:Groove Nation'.

I've been lucky enough to travel internationally with work, singing on tours of the U.K., Germany, Italy, North America, Canada and South America, and at various festivals in Malta, Holland, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden and the Isle of Wight, sharing the stage with many amazing artists including Status Quo, Tori Amos, Toto, Thin Lizzy, The Wailers and Robert Plant.

I have always loved to sing, and I believe that it shows in my voice, my songs and my performance. Before training at LIPA I lead my own choir and have also taught singing, mainly in primary schools, as a freelance tutor/musician, running workshops and generally having fun making music.

Since early 2011, I have been offering vocal & performance coaching privately from home too; please see my 'coaching' page for more information.

I have many different influences. My taste ranges from Led Zeppelin to Nina Simone, Diana Krall to Ben Folds, Jill Scott to Joni Mitchell; I've never been able to name my favourite song or vocalist, as I love so much music. I am hugely passionate about my work.

I hope you enjoy my home on the web!

Warmest regards,

Emily
